Sapins hosted the 2nd round of the French DHI Cup in 2020. And is one of the black trails inside the 2 Alpes Bike Park. Most of the trail is out in the open with some fast sections through the trees.
As far as the layout is concerned, Sapins is very clearly bike park style. It is a wide artificial trail with plenty of flow and big features. Throughout the descent, you will find high berms, doubles, river gaps and wallrides. For experienced riders who are used to riding black runs, there is no difficulty. What makes this trail hard is how steep it is. You have to keep your head up, spot your lines and keep a good flow throughout. But once you learn the trail it's full send! Keep an eye out for the double berm at the beginning of the run, it's a great way to overtake your mates.

To reach the start of Sapins, take the Diable chairlift and turn left once you arrive at the top. Head towards the Bike Patrollers trail down L'Angel - see how to get to Bike Patrollers here). Once you get to the start of Bike Patrollers, ride down it for a few hundred yards, you'll see the trailhead arch on your left (visible at 0:50 in the Bike Patrollers trail video).
